FundRaksha HR gives Nagpur employers GPS check-in on employees' own phones (only inside the office radius, one phone per employee), leave, shift rosters and a payroll that computes PF, ESI, PT and TDS, with payslip PDFs and PF ECR, ESI, bank and Tally files. Maharashtra profession tax: nil up to ₹7,500 for men and ₹25,000 for women; ₹200 a month with ₹300 in February at the top slab. Plans cost ₹49, ₹79 or ₹99 per employee per month plus GST, with a 30-day free trial.
Nagpur's workforce and its HR problems
Logistics and warehousing, agri-trading (oranges above all), steel and power equipment, mining supply and pharma distribution are the city's main employers. A large share of the workforce is not at a desk: delivery staff, medical representatives, drivers and site technicians.
Seasonal peaks are real here. Orange trading and distribution businesses add people for a few months, and salary advances are a normal part of keeping a team together through the year.
- Field staff who report attendance by phone call
- Advances given in cash and recovered from memory
- Fuel and travel bills handed in as a bundle at month end
- Seasonal staff added and removed without a clean record
Maharashtra payroll rules for a Nagpur employer
Profession tax applies to salaries in Maharashtra, with separate thresholds for men and women under Schedule I as in force from 1 April 2023. The top slab is ₹2,500 a year, collected as ₹200 a month and ₹300 in February.

|---|---|---|
| Up to ₹7,500 | Nil | Nil |
| ₹7,501 to ₹10,000 | ₹175 a month | Nil |
| ₹10,001 to ₹25,000 | ₹200 a month, ₹300 in February | Nil |

Labour welfare fund. Contributions go to the Maharashtra Labour Welfare Board online at public.mlwb.in. It is not one of FundRaksha HR's listed files, so diarise it.
Shops and establishments. The Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017 and its 2018 rules apply. The Labour Department publishes them at mahakamgar.maharashtra.gov.in. The four Labour Codes have been in force since 21 November 2025; state Shops and Establishments Acts continue alongside them.
ESI covers employees earning up to ₹21,000 a month (employee 0.75%, employer 3.25%); PF is 12% from each side. Check cases with the PF and ESI calculators.
How FundRaksha HR handles it in Nagpur
- Work-from-home and field staff are supported, and there is no background tracking of employees
- Salary advances recovered in instalments, shown on the payslip
- Reimbursements with bill photos, approved before payroll
- Employees added in bulk by Excel import and invited with a company code
Admins work from the mobile app or the web console, and PAN, Aadhaar and bank numbers are encrypted and masked.
Worked example: a pharma distributor with 26 staff
A distributor near Butibori employs 8 warehouse staff and 18 sales and delivery staff who cover chemists across Vidarbha. Warehouse staff check in inside the godown's radius; the field team is set up as field staff. Two delivery staff took ₹10,000 advances before Diwali, recovered at ₹2,000 a month.
On Pro at ₹79 per employee (₹2,054 a month plus GST) the advance instalments, fuel bills with photos and PT at the Maharashtra slab all appear on the payslip, and the PF ECR and ESI files come out of the same run.
Getting started: a one-week checklist
