A good billing app for a phone lets you scan with the camera or a Bluetooth scanner, print to a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi printer, share the bill PDF on WhatsApp, and keep the same data on every device. FundRaksha Book has an Android app on Google Play and runs in the browser on iPhone, iPad, laptops and desktops, with one account across all of them.
What to check in a phone billing app
- Scanning. The camera works for a few scans; a Bluetooth scanner is faster for a queue.
- Printing. Can it print to the printer you have, Bluetooth thermal or Wi-Fi?
- Sharing. Many customers want the bill on WhatsApp rather than on paper.
- Same data everywhere. The owner checks sales at home on a phone; the counter bills on a tablet.
- Staff control. Counter staff should bill without editing old invoices or seeing reports.
- Works on the phones you have. Android, iPhone, or both.
How FundRaksha Book works on phones
| Device | How you use Book |
|---|---|
| Android phone or tablet | The FundRaksha Book app from Google Play, or the browser |
| iPhone or iPad | The browser (Safari or Chrome), nothing to install |
| Laptop or desktop | The browser, with a USB scanner and any printer |
It is the same account and the same data on every device. On the sale screen you can tap the camera button to scan, or pair a Bluetooth scanner. In the Android app, an invoice can go to a printer connected to the phone, or be shared as a PDF on WhatsApp, email or Drive. In a browser on a phone, the PDF opens in your viewer, from where you can print or share it.
Book needs an internet connection to save bills; it is not an offline app. If your shop often loses signal, check that before you rely on any phone-only setup. Vyapar, for example, advertises offline billing that syncs when connected.
FundRaksha Book is free for the first 300 invoices, with every feature switched on and no card needed. Sales and purchase invoices both count. After that, Pro is ₹999 a year for unlimited invoices, paid by UPI, card or net banking; the site says prices include applicable taxes as charged at checkout. See book.fundraksha.com.
Staff on phones
The owner creates a login for each staff member and switches on only what they need: billing, editing or deleting sales invoices, purchases, labels, customers, suppliers, expenses, reports, shop settings and managing staff are separate permissions. A counter boy on his own phone can bill without seeing your profit report.
Worked example: a one-person shop on a phone
A cosmetics stall in a Surat market runs Book on an Android phone with a Bluetooth scanner.
- Morning: enter the wholesaler's bill on the phone; Book sets selling prices from a 25% margin.
- Print labels at home on an A4 sticker sheet from a laptop browser, same account.
- At the stall: scan, take UPI, and share the PDF bill on WhatsApp when a customer asks.
- Evening: open the day-wise report to see the day's sales and purchases.
Face cream and perfume are 18%, shampoo and soap 5%; set the rate on each line when you enter the purchase.
