Free consultation

Is the Free Consultation Really Free? Yes. Here Is Exactly What That Means

"Free consultation" is used loosely in many industries, so the suspicion is fair. This page answers the question directly and then explains how FundRaksha can afford to give away the assessment, what you will and will not be asked to pay at every stage, and the one cost that is not ours and never hidden.

Short answer

Yes. The consultation and the case assessment are free, with no obligation. If you decide to go ahead, there is still nothing to pay upfront: FundRaksha Legal charges 30% only on the amount actually recovered. The only cost that is not FundRaksha's and not covered by the fee is court fees, if a matter is actually filed, and those are told to you in advance.

How a free consultation is possible

FundRaksha is paid only when money is recovered, so the assessment is the firm's own due diligence: it is how we decide whether to take a matter. Charging you for our own screening would be unfair to the businesses whose cases we decline. The cost of the consultation is covered by the recoveries that follow. 1,000+ businesses have been onboarded on this basis and 700+ have been paid.

The one cost that is not ours

Court fees, filing charges and stamp duty are statutory payments to the court or institution when a matter is filed. They are not FundRaksha's fees and are not covered by the success fee. They are also not hidden: before anything is filed, your advocate tells you the exact amount so you can decide. About 60% of FundRaksha matters settle at the notice stage and never incur a court fee at all.

What "no obligation" means in practice

  • You can take the assessment and act on it yourself
  • You can take it to another firm
  • You can decide to do nothing
  • You will not receive sales calls afterwards; a single follow-up message asks if you have questions
  • Nothing is sent to your buyer unless and until you sign the engagement
