As of 21 October 2026, the only official 2027 list we could open on a government source is the Central Government list issued by DoPT on 16 July 2026: 17 gazetted holidays for Delhi and New Delhi offices and 32 restricted holidays. RBI has not published 2027 bank holidays, and no State or UT 2027 holiday list was available on an official State website. Kerala has notified its 2027 list in the Kerala Gazette; we will add it once the official copy is on a Kerala government site.

Why we do not publish estimated 2027 lists
- Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Jain festivals follow lunar or luni-solar calendars, so their Gregorian dates change every year. A 2026 list cannot be shifted forward.
- Each State decides which festivals are public holidays, and when a festival falls on a Sunday some States drop it while others move it.
- Bank holidays come from State notifications under the Negotiable Instruments Act, compiled by RBI, so they appear only after the States act.
Each State page will be added here, with the notification number and date, as soon as the official list is published.
Holidays a private employer must give
Government holiday lists set the dates; the number of paid holidays a private employer must give comes from State law. Examples from the Acts in force:
| State | Law | Paid holidays a year |
|---|---|---|
| Kerala | Kerala Industrial Establishments (National and Festival Holidays) Act, 1958, s.3 (establishments with 20 or more persons) | 13: 26 January, 1 May, 15 August, 2 October and 9 festival holidays |
| Andhra Pradesh | AP Factories and Establishments (National, Festival and other Holidays) Act, 1974, s.3 | 8: 26 January, 1 May, 15 August, 2 October and 4 festival holidays |
| Punjab | Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958, s.12 | 6: 3 national holidays and 3 notified festival holidays |
| Haryana | Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958 as applied to Haryana, s.12 | 8: 3 national holidays and 5 notified festival holidays |
| Bihar | Bihar Shops and Establishments Act, 1953, s.12A | 3 national holidays and up to 5 festival holidays |
Rules for each State, including extra pay for work on a holiday, are in the State's shops and establishments or festival holidays law; check it before you fix your list.
Plan the year in your HR software
FundRaksha HR keeps a holiday calendar per branch, so a team spread across States can follow each State's list once it is notified, and attendance and payroll count holidays as paid days automatically.
